Home, Sweet Home
This time next week I will be almost home in New Zealand for six days. Yay! I am so excited to see my son and my dog.
Ryder's greetings for anyone he knows are legendary. I can't wait to see what he does when he sees me. In fact, I can't wait to see what I'll do when I see him. I imagine it'll involve a lot of tears and hair and cuddles! I fully intend to spend most of the week with boy and dog no further than arm's length away.
This is all thanks to my wonderful sister who is flying me over for her 25th wedding anniversary, which is, in my opinion, a pretty incredible milestone! I was her bridesmaid, so she says it wouldn't be right for me not to be there, which is why big sisters are about the coolest things anyone can ever have.
Except for DJ, SnL, the Munchkin, and my new niece-in-law, it'll be a real family reunion! I wish everyone could be there, but I'm awfully pleased that I can be.
So, yay!
I had meant to post something funny today but a) nothing funny has happened, yet, and b) I can't stop thinking about going home. However, I'm also starting to think about having to fly in an actual airplane again and that is dampening things considerably. It is not my favorite thing to do. In fact, I'd sooner meet a huntsman spider than fly on a plane again -- that's how much I want to see my family. Also, if I am facing flying again (only a matter of months since the last time, in fact), I think that should earn me an exemption from scary spider encounters for at least a year.
That's fair enough, right?

i dont like flying either

and think of what awaits you :) :) :)
I hereby exempt you from scary spiders and wish you a smooth flight to Home, Sweet Home. How much fun you're going to have!
Thanks, Jen! I've noticed every time I talk about going home they get more earthquakes. So I'm a bit concerned about what it has waiting for me when I get there!
Tricia, I appreciate that, hehe :) I am going to have the most marvelous time! I can't wait to see Ryder :) At least with all the people I left behind, I can talk to them and tell them where I am and how I am, but with a dog, you can't even explain that you're going. I've felt like I let him down in the biggest way, so it's going to be the best thing in the world to see him again.
Isn't that the greatest thing about dogs? He won't have seen me for almost four months, and I know he'll be so thrilled to see me and not at all mad I left him. Kind of adds to the guilt :)
darling dont talk things into existence
have a good time! take video of ryder seeing you again :)
happy anniversary to your sister and her partner!
Thanks Jennifer! I'm going to see if my son will take one for me on his phone (or mine). I've seen Ryder's greetings for other people he hasn't seen in a while. I have a feeling that for me, it'll be extra big :D I hope so anyway!
YAY! How fun that you get to go home for a few days! I know you've missed it. I hope you have a wonderful time.
Thanks! If I can have half as much fun as you had on your vacation, I'll be doing very well :D
